The Next Generation’s Board of Directors presented a check to The Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center for $85,000. This donation, which was accepted by Dr. Eric Pearlman, medical director of The Children’s Hospital, was made possible through the support of more than 300 members as well as corporate sponsors of the annual Barbeque, Brews and Bluegrass events. They also have several supporting groups that have made generous donations to The Next Generation throughout the year.

The sizable donation will help to cover the costs of three recently renovated rooms of The Children’s Hospital. The funding provided new décor, couches, recliners, etc. for the rooms to make them more comfortable when families are required to be in the hospital with their children, to help fund SAFEKIDS Savannah (a program that promotes safety and education for the prevention of accidents with children), as well as the purchase of five large mobile gaming systems to keep children entertained during their hospital stay.

The Next Generation remains focused on its mission of fostering a positive healthcare experience for our community’s children and further educating parents on children’s healthcare matters through fundraising, volunteer service and educational outreach. The Next Generation is extremely thankful to Land Rover of Hilton Head, JT Turner Construction, SeaCrest Partners, Colliers International, Georgia Power, Sleepwell, Macaljon family of companies and many others for remaining such wonderful supporters of the efforts of the organization.
