The Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance Day Association’s 2014 celebration of Dr. King’s birth, life and legacy continues. The 2014 Calendar of Events continues on Friday, January 10, 2014 hosted by Saint Luke Baptist Church, Rev. Lexcie E. Aiken, Pastor and the 2014 Civil Rights Honoree. A local musical icon, Mr. E. Larry Mc- Duffie will serve as the MC along with Savannah music legend, Evangelist Barbara Pinckney Williams as guest artist and choirs from across the area will provide an enchanting evening of music to be remembered.
During The Interfaith Service, “The Words Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” will be presented Sunday, the 12th of January 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the Butler Presbyterian Church.
Our 2014 theme winners, past theme winners and other area students of various faiths will read from Dr. King’s writings. Mrs. Lillian W. Ellis and members of SONATA will render the music. All members of the clergy are invited to participate in the Memorial March of the Clergy.
