Camp Adam Fisher teaches kids about managing their diabetes while they enjoy a classic summer camp experience
St. Joseph’s/Candler is participating in this summer’s Camp Adam Fisher and wants to help children with diabetes enjoy the camp at no cost. Camp Adam Fisher is a weeklong overnight camp for children with diabetes, their brothers, sisters and friends ages 6-17. Kids come from all over the southeast to experience this unique opportunity, while learning more about managing their diabetes, making new friends and having a blast. Campers will enjoy swimming, kayaking, tubing, team sports, arts and crafts and all the other summer camp favorites.
The camp will be held June 8 – June 15 at the R.M. Cooper 4-H leadership Center, located on a 110-acre peninsula on the Wyboo Creek section of Lake Marion in Summerton, South Carolina.
Nurse Practitioner Carol Barbee from St. Joseph’s/ Candler will be onsite through the week as one of many medical staff volunteers.
