The Savannah State volleyball team was picked to finish fifth in the Southern Division in the 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference preseason poll. Voting was done by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.
The Lady Tigers earned 44 points in the voting and finished ahead of South Carolina State who had 32 points.
Bethune- Cookman, who got 14 of 24 firstplace votes and finished with 134 points, was selected to capture the Southern Division followed by Florida A&M, North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central, SSU and SC State.
Maryland Eastern Shore was picked to win the Northern Division by edging out Howard. UMES had 131 points while Howard had 130. Morgan State, Coppin State, Delware State and Norfolk State round out the Northern Division predicted order of finish.
