Phi Delta Kappa, Chapter 1219 will recognize and show appreciation for schools performing better than statistically expected at a TEA & CHEERS social event on Saturday September 30, 2017 at the Southwest Regional Auditorium, 14097 Abercorn Street. Registration begins at 2:30 PM. Dr. Mary Kropiewnicki, Dean and Professor at the Savannah State University School of Education will speak at the event. The schools being honored are characterized as “Beating the Odds”. They met the challenge of exceeding predictions of success. Also, three additional schools will be honored for state distinction( s) in other areas. Phi Delta Kappa International is a professional association for men and women in education. Founded in 1906, it has over 660 chapters across the United States, Canada, and 12 other countries. The organization is active at all levels of education.
