Eason Leaves SSU For UCONN

Brian Eason has left his post as the Savannah State equipment manager and has been hired as the football assistant equipment manager with the University of Connecticut. Eason, who worked at SSU since August 2013, graduated with a bachelor of science in sports management from Winston-Salem State University in 2012 and earned his maters degree in sports management from Adelphi University in 2017.

Before working at Savannah State, Eason was with the Jacksonville Jaguars where he was a part of the training camp staff for two months in 2012.

Prior to the Jaguars, he was the head equipment manager for the Spokane Shock and Oklahoma Yarddawgz of Arena League Football in Spokane, Washington from 2010-11. He has held internships at Wake Forest University and for the Carolina Cobras Arena Football team.

SSU Volleyball Predicted To Finish Fifth In Southern Division

The Savannah State volleyball team was predicted to finish fifth in the Southern Division of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. SSU finished last season with a 2-25 record.

Florida A&M was predicted to win the Southern

Division followed by Bethune-Cookman, North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central, SSU and South Carolina State.

Howard, the defending MEAC champion, was predicted to win the Northern Division followed by Maryland-Eastern Shore, Morgan State, Hampton, Norfolk State, Coppin State and Delaware State.

Tigers Participate In Summer League Baseball

Twelve members of the Savannah State baseball team participated in summer league baseball.

Trevor McKenna and Alex Wright played with the Catawba Valley Stars in the Carolina Virginia League, Justin Washington (Sag Harbor Whalers) and Jalen Atterbury (Southampton Breakers) played in the Hamptons League, Scott Smith played with the Chugiak Chinooks of the Alaskan Baseball League, Mason Calloway (Marietta Patriots) and Ian Concevitch (Alpharetta Braves) played in the Sunbelt Baseball League, Turner Davis (Winyah Tides) and Trey Simon (Myrtle Beach 8’s) played in the Ripken Experience Summer Collegiate League, Khalyd Cox and Alex Pierce both played with the Central Florida Mavericks of the Central Florida Summer League and Hector Benitez played with the Fort Mc- Murray Giants of the Western Major Baseball League.
