Sigma Tau Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is concerned about the many citizens in Savannah that do not have food to eat. After pondering with the thought, they decided to do something for the residents of the Tom D. Austin House, a home for homeless families.

They placed boxes around the campus of Armstrong Atlantic State University and the students responded to their call. On April 6, 2012 members of Sigma Tau Chapter presented the canned goods, baby food and bottles to Ms. Cynthia Grady, case planner for the Austin House. Sigma Tau Chapter is in the process of partnering with the Austin House during the next school year.

Sigma Tau Chapter is under the leadership of Mrs. Audrey Barnes Singleton and Mrs. Sharon B. Stallings. Ms. Amber Brown is the President and Ivy Leaf Reporter.
