Lester B. Johnson III of Lester B. Johnson III P.C. and John B. Manly of John B. Manly P.C., both of Savannah, were re-elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 49,000-member State Bar of Georgia. Both were installed June 10 during the organization’s Annual Meeting. Johnson will continue to serve in the Eastern Judicial Circuit, Post 2 seat on the board. He earned his law degree from the University of Miami Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1979. He is a member of the State Bar’s sections on Elder Law, Fiduciary Law, Local Government Law, Military/Veterans Law, School & College Law and Tort & Insurance Law. Manly will continue to serve in the Post 4 seat from the Eastern Circuit. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and joined the State Bar in 2008. He focuses his law practice on serious personal injury and wrongful death litigation.
The Board of Governors is the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board holds regular meetings at least four times per year.
