State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Garden City), along with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, will host the “Dream Program” on Monday, August 14, 2017, at the Southside Savannah Library (Oglethorpe Mall Library at 7 Mall Annex) in Savannah. There will be two program sessions, the first session will begin at 10 a.m., and the second session will begin at 5 p.m.
The “Dream Program,” initiated by the Department of Community Affairs, is designed to give low income residents the opportunity to become a home owner. The sessions will give residents an opportunity to learn how to raise their Beacon Score to a minimum score of 624. Once this score is reached, residents can qualify for down payment assistance up to $16,000. This event is a follow-up of the Georgia Poverty Summit, a three-day career fair recently hosted by Rep. Gilliard.
This event is free and open to the public.
