Omar Makes Donation To Park Place Outreach, Inc.

Omar Temple No. 21 Shriners and Omar Court No. 91 Daughters of Isis held their Annual Potentate and Commandress Charity Ball, Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Savannah Civic Center Ballroom with nearly 500 attendees for the formal event. The Ball celebrated the accomplishments of the Temple and Court community service involvement under the leadership of the Illustrious Potentate Edward P. Russell and Illustrious Commandress Rose White.

Proceeds from the Ball and other events held throughout the year will support the Shriners signature projects of the National Diabetes Initiatives, Shriners as Mentors and educational scholarships. They will aid Omar Court in their support of the NAACP, March of Dimes, Lucille Crawford Health Fair, college scholarships and local grass root charities.

The Ball also allowed both organizations to make a $2,000 donation during the event to Park Place Outreach, Inc. Senior Case Manager Roberta Pringle. Park Place formerly Marshlands Foundation d.b.a. Savannah Runaway Home is located at 514 East Henry Street in Savannah, Georgia. Park Place Outreach has served the Savannah community since 1984 providing emergency shelter, meals and counseling to at-risk youth and their families. Park Place Outreach serves youth age 11 to 17 who are going through a stressful period at home or who are victims of physical and/or mental abuse.

Omar Temple and Omar Court are proud to be able to sustain their national initiatives and provide support to local charities in the Coastal Empire.
