Little Mr. & Miss Omar Extravaganza were held Sunday April 28, 2013 at the Progressive Center. Omar Court #91 Daughters of Isis sponsored this event with three main objectives are: To be an instrument to enhance strong self esteem qualities in youth, To teach competitive wholesome behaviors and To work toward spiritual goals to become the best person God would have them to become as an adult.
JaDaziah Mone’ Wilcher “Little Miss Omar 2013” – She is the beautiful daughter of Joy Wilcher-Jenkins. She is 8years old and attends Largo-Tibet Elementary School where she is in the 3rd Grade and Honor Roll Student. She is a member of Kingdom Life Church, where she is a part of the Dance Ministry and is a cheerleader for the Kingdom Life Eagles. JaDaziah enjoys reading, riding her bike, drawing, and spending time with her family. Her goal in life is to become a Singer.
Derion Knox Tillman “Little Mr. Omar 2013” – His proud parents are Miranda Knox and Shannon Tillman. He is the grandson of Randy and Dt. Janet Knox and Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Boyd. Derion is 5 years old. He attends
Liberty County Pre-K Center in Hinesville, GA. He attends Pleasant Grove AME Church in Hinesville, GA, where he is active in all youth activities, choir, Bible study and Sunday school. Derion enjoys riding his bicycles, gocart, and four-wheeler. He is a very friendly and outgoing person.
Jayden Christopher Wilcher “1st Place” – Is the son of Joy Wilcher-Jenkins. He is 6 years old and attends Largo-Tibet Elementary School where his in the 1st grade and an Honor Roll student. He is a member of Kingdom Life Church. Jayden is a member of the Southside Jaguars football team and the Savannah Stars baseball team. He enjoys playing Video games, riding his bike, playing the drums and spending time with his family. His goal in life is to become a Police Officer.
Our Mistress of Ceremony was introduced by Dt. Cherry Blue-Hamilton, 1st Lt. Commandress of Omar Court #91, Miss Ayante N. Blue, SSU Freshman expressed her feelings about returning as the Mistress of Ceremony, because in 2003-2005 she served as Little Miss Omar. The opening selection was appropriately sung by the audience “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” The prayer was led by the 2012 1st Runnerup Sky Blue, and we were warmly welcomed by Ms. Jada Brown. We received a Spiritual performance from the GMA Mime Dancers of Tremont Baptist Church. Court Photographer – Dt. Linda Bryan. Proceeds from this event supports Omar Court #91 with various 2013 Community Service projects i.e. March of Dimes, Sickle Sell, NAACP, Lucille Crawford Scholarship Program, Senior Citizen Mentorship, Homeless Initiatives, Youth Program, The Annual Lucille Crawford “Think Pink” (Breast Cancer Awareness) Health Fair and the Omar Temple #21 Shriners Foundation in partnership with the American Diabetes Association.
