The Rev. Bennie R. Mitchell, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is presented annually to a graduating senior enrolled in a Chatham County Public School who exemplifies the values and ideals represented by Rev. Mitchell of showing service to others. Thus far, the scholarship has been awarded to six students to help them, in their own way, keep Rev. Mitchell’s legacy alive.
The scholarship is a labor of love by Dr. Louis Fair and his wife Dr. Blenda Wilson who decided to organize and implement an educational scholarship in honor of Rev. Mitchell and his passion for the education of young people.
Applications for the scholarship are available from the office of any Savannah-Chatham County Public School System high school counselor. The scholarship committee thanks all who help to make this scholarship possible.
