National Newspaper Publishers Association Holds Annual Convention

Cloves Campbell, Jr., publisher of the Arizona Informant, was re-elected to a second term as chairman of the National Newspaper Publishers Association at the NNPA’s annual convention held in Nashville, TN June 26-29, 2013.

The NNPA Annual Convention was held in Nashville. The host publishers were Rosetta Miller-Perry, Publisher of the Tennessee Tribune and Scott Davis, Publisher of the Nashville Pride and Councilman, District 5.

On Thursday, Pastor Ronnie T. Mitchell delivered a powerful sermon at HBCU Prayer Breakfast.

Panelists and speakers included Jineea Butler, Founder of the Social Services of Hip Hop and the Hip Hop Union; Hip Hop Artist Kangol Kid and Ralph Mc- Daniels.

Awards Dinner at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Front Page Awardees were Roland Martin and Larry Waters. Mary Alice Thatch of the Wilmington Journal received the Publisher of the Year Award.

The NNPA Legacy Awards Reception and were held on Friday evening. Ambassador

Dr. Bobby Jones was the Master of Ceremonies. The Legacy Award honorees were Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr and . The conference culminated on Saturday morning with the swearing in of the new board and officers.
