The Miss Black Savannah USA Pageant has returned! Last Saturday, July 18, 2015 in the Elmore Theatre on Savannah State campus three beautiful young ladies were crowned as Miss Black Savannah USA, Miss Black Savannah Talented Teen USA, and Miss Black Savannah Jr. Teen USA.

Briana Ward was crowned as your new Miss Black Savannah USA, Nyenge Mitchell was crowned as Miss Talented Teen of Savannah, and Azariah Pollen was crowned as your 2015 Miss Black Savannah Jr. Teen USA. At the crowning ceremony Saturday theses three beautiful young ladies were crowned and are moving on to compete at the Miss Black Georgia Pageant on October 10th. The contestants will be able to compete in five categories Personal Fitness 15%, Talent 35%, Evening Wear 15%, On Stage Q & A 20%, and Poise 15%.

Jordan Ogden a former Miss Savannah and Miss Georgia organized this return and says she is extremely excited to see the results of the work put into this ceremony and how these young ladies will represent savannah at the state level. We look forward to seeing what these young ladies will do in the future.

Applications for 2016-2017 Miss Black Savannah pageant will open in January.

An added attraction to the 2015 Miss Black Savannah ceremony was having the very first Miss Black Savannah, Miss Lucy Polite (now Murray) present. She was crowned in 1948 at the Melody Theatre on East Broad and Gwinnett Sts. She was also the first Black female Postal Carrier in Savannah.
