Memorial to Host Annual ‘Teddy Bear Hospital’ on April 6

The Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) will host the 23nd annual Teddy Bear Hospital on Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Parking Deck C on the MUMC campus.

Children age 10 and under are encouraged to bring their favorite teddy bear, stuffed animal, or doll through the mock hospital to learn some of the ways that hospitals help children feel better. This fun environment allows doctors, nurses, and technicians to perform various procedures on the toys, including X-rays, lab tests, and surgery. At the same time, children get a better understanding of how hospitals work and learn about wellness and injury prevention.

Participants in this year’s Teddy Bear Hospital can meet representatives from The Children’s Hospital at MUMC, SafeKids of Savannah, Coastal Pet Therapy, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Reach Out & Read, and more.
