Local Leaders Perform Stand Up Comedy And Raise Cash for Kids

Performance Initiatives is a not for profit organization dedicated to help others by using athletics and fitness.

PI’s mission is to inspire and implement principles in programs which will enrich the lives of others physically, psychologically, and spiritually. Stand Up for Kids will benefit Savannah’s at-risk-youth turned both academic and weightlifting champions at PI or Performance Initiatives. This year, all proceeds will go towards PI partnering with Royce Learning Center to bring specialty tutors to program youth who are autistic and/or currently performing below grade level. The campaign entails seven local Savannah celebrities participating in an eight week fundraising competition that will culminate with a fun evening in which each celebrity comic will perform in a short stand up comedy routine or a comedy sketch with one of PI’s child champions.

The event will take place on May 18th at the American Legion Ballroom 1108 Bull Street. Join us as local funny folks Andy Blair, Tommy Nickoloff, Jessica Leigh Lebos, Laiken Love, Karen Franklin and Paul Meyer will be putting it all on the line with a stand up routine/skit for at-risk youth in our community. Currently, they are running campaigns to raise the most funds and win the “Crack Up Crown” at this one-of-akind event. Tickets are $40 per person for an evening of fun, laughter and philanthropy!
