Light The Night Helps Find A Cure

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) of Savannah will be hosting its 2017 Light The Night on Friday, October 13 at 5:30 p.m at Daffin Park in Savannah, GA. Light the Night is a powerful and unique fundraising campaign for LLS, which brings together families and communities to honor blood cancer survivors and loved ones lost to the disease.

For 19 years, Light the Night in Savannah has been a family-friendly, non-competitive walk but this year LLS is Lighting The Night at Daffin Park in a new way. The event will still feature a lantern lit walk around the park that is accessible to all fitness levels but this year the festival style atmosphere will provide a night to remember for all those in attendance. All registered participants will receive an illuminated lantern to show how their lives have been affected by blood cancer – a white lantern if they’re a survivor, red if they’re a supporter and gold if they’re walking in memory of a loved one.

Light The Night gates will open in Daffin Park at 5:30 p.m. and a special lantern lighting ceremony will start at 7 p.m. Parking will be available throughout Daffin Park but, due to a concert being held at Grayson Stadium the same night, Light The Night attendees are encouraged to park next to the tennis courts. Off-site parking will be available at Savannah Arts Academy.
