The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Liberty City Community Center Addition will take place tomorrow, September 16th at 10:00 AM at 1401 Mills B. Lane.
The addition includes an extra 4,800 square feet that includes a multi-purpose room that seats 175 people in a banquet setting, an exercise room, game room, utility space and restrooms. The Design Team, led by Architect Thomas Olson of Kern & Company, LLC, is comprised of 100% local small businesses. The general contracting services were provided by R.L. Construction Group, Inc., which is a local, woman-owned, small business.
Voters approved funding the construction of the addition to the Liberty City Community Center in the 2008-2014 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) referendum. Through a two-way partnership, Chatham County served as the developer and provided SPLOST funding, and the City of Savannah will continue to maintain and operate the entire facility.
