Carver State Bank has announced the addition Mrs. Laura McKinley to the Bank’s staff. McKinley will serve as a Loan Officer and Special Assistant to the President. She brings to Carver more than 30 years in banking experience that was primarily in lending and the executive leadership areas of community banks. McKinley will work at the bank’s Skidaway Road Branch that is located at the corner of Eisenhower Drive and Skidaway Road in Savannah. She will be instrumental in the bank’s new effort to enhance the activities at its Skidaway Office and make it a loan center for the entire region.
Prior to joining the staff at Carver, McKinley helped organize and lead banks in Villa Rica, Carrollton and Brunswick. Recently, she spent about 3 years in the credit union industry in Brunswick as President of Georgia Coastal Federal Credit Union (GCFCU). At Carver, she will originate business loans and residential mortgages for resale in the secondary markets and to be held on the bank’s book; coordinate the work of the bank’s Asset Liability Management Committee, including the monitoring of Interest Rate Risks; and implement the bank’s Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses methodology.
McKinley earned her B.A. at the University of Florida and has completed the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Currently a resident if Glynn County, she serves as a board member of the Brunswick Urban Redevelopment Agency and previously served on the board of Rebuilding Together Glynn County.
