Junior League Accepting Applications for Kids Who Care Scholarships


The Junior League of Savannah is now accepting applications for 2011-2012 Kids Who Care scholarships. This spring, five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors from Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, Bullock, Jasper, Liberty, Glynn, and Beaufort (SC) counties who have demonstrated a strong commitment to volunteerism and outstanding community involvement. These scholarships represent a $5,000 annual commitment by the League to the future generation. Applications are due March 18, 2011 and are available online at jrleaguesav.org under Community Impact & Applications or by calling the Junior League of Savannah headquarters at 912.790.1002. The Junior League of Savannah is an organization of over 1,000 women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

The Junior League of Savannah was established on January 7, 1926, when the organization was admitted in the Association of Junior Leagues International. Through the power of our association, the Junior League of Savannah will strengthen communities by embracing diverse perspectives, building partnerships and inspiring shared solutions.
