Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.-Savannah Alumnae Chapter presented twelve beautiful young ladies, who graced the stage of the Savannah Civic Center Johnny Mercy Theater on Sunday, May 6, 2012 – 5:00P.M., as the sorority’s signature fundraiser, the Jabberwock returned to Savannah. Five little ladies were seeking the title of “Little Miss Jabberwock 2012,” and seven young ladies were vying the title coveted title of ”Miss Jabberwock 2012.”

The Jabberwock theme:“Diamond Dreams and Golden Wishes,” came true for Jadie Hampton – “Little Miss Jabberwock 2012” and Y’Mani Miller, “Miss Jabberwock 2012,” who were the big winners. “Little Miss Jabberwock 2012,”Jada T. Hampton is an 11-year-old fifth grader at Hesse K-8. Among Jada’s honors are: the Principal’s Honor Roll, Award-Winning Gymnast, Book Worm Club.

First Runner-Up to Little Miss Jabberwock, Amaya James, is the 11- years-old and is a fifth grade student at Esther F. Garrison Elementary School. Amaya has received numerous accolades, including the honor of being on the honor roll several times both in Syracuse, NY and here in Savannah. She has won the Syracuse Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament Award and has been the lead golfer in her age group.

She is a member of the First Tee of Savannah, and the SGA Girls Golf club.

Second Runner-Up to Little Miss Jabberwock, Jessica Elizabeth Johnson, is 8-years-old and is a third grade student at Georgetown Elementary School, where she has received Kumon High Honor Roll (Math 2011) Karate’ Medals (Competition), and is an Honor Roll student. Other Little Miss Jabberwock contestants were: Sequoia Imani Franklin and Kelliain Hall. Sequoia Imani Franklin is 9- years-old and is a fourth grade student at Gadsden Elementary School, where she is in the Gifted program, has been named SCCPSS Student of the Month, Yearly Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance and more.

Kelliain Hall is a fifth grade honor roll student at Garrison Elementary School. She is the eleven year old daughter of Tanya Smith. She is a 2012 3rd Semester Honor Roll students, who participates in the choir, dance group, and is a Garrison Elementary School Performing Arts Band Clarinet Player.

“Miss Jabberwock 2012,” Y’Mani Markell Miller is a 16-years-old junior at Savannah Early College/Dual Enrollment at SSU/A.E.Beach High School. Among her many awards are: the 2010 Jefferson Award Recipient, 2010 Good Character Award and

First Runner-Up to Miss Jabberwock is Sabria Jones, a sophomore at St. Vincent’s Academy. She is the fifteen year old daughter of Shalonda Rountree. Her awards include: Honor Roll, Volunteer- of- the- Year, Youth-of-the-Year of the Coastal Empire and more. Second Runner-up to Miss Jabberwock, Iyana Chalmers, is a 14-year-old at Oglethorpe Charter School, where she is a member of the Beta Club, Gattyson Youth Choir, Band, and more.

Other Miss Jabberwock 2012 contestants were: Portia Bosco, Shiasia Brown, Sharama Johnson, and Silviller Watson.

Portia Bosco is an 18- year-old senior at Windsor Forest High School, Portia has received numerous awards, such as: High Honor Roll, Miss Homecoming 2011, Prom Princess 2011, HEART Award and more.

Shiasia Brown is a 17- year-old junior at A.E. Beach High School. She participates in the Student Leadership Program. Shiasia is a member of First Jerusalem Baptist Church. Sharama Johnson, the sixteen years old daughter of Shara Chaney, is a sophomore at Hershel V. Jenkins High School. She has received the Jamfest National Award.

Silviller Watson is the 13-year-old eighth grade student at South West Middle School. She is a member of Savannah Youth Council and Future Educators of America,
