By demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety, Hospice Savannah, Inc. has again earned that agency’s Gold Seal of Approval™. It is the only hospice in the Coastal Empire to be awarded this prestigious indicator of excellence in standards of care specific to the need of patients, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.
“It is my hope that physicians and other medical professionals realize that not all hospices are the same…If families want the best, they must insist on Hospice Savannah’s care,” says Debra Anthony Larson, President and CEO. “Attaining certification is a voluntary process that demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest level of care. It shows we are making a significant investment in quality on a day-to-day basis from the top down.”
Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission is the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. It conducted an unannounced, on-site evaluation of Hospice Savannah in February.
