On some level we know that what we eat affects every part of our body, most of the time however, we pay no attention to what we eat, and seem to be shocked to learn that something we ate caused us to be sick. Here is a revelation, what we eat can also make us well.
When we understand the value of food, we can make choices that cater to the body’s own healing capacity. We can activate and stimulate the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. This is the roll of good nutrition. It is as easy as knowing how to make better choices.
Here is the starter guide in just a few easy steps:
Make a green smoothie everyday. Sure most folk like the commercial smoothies that are probably only one step away from a milk shake, but that’s not what we’re talking about here. Have a juice made with green vegetables, and a little fruit to sweeten the taste. This will add more nutrients to your body for healing, and not the sugar which suppresses the immune system. Make the juice in the blender with carrot juice and two stalks of celery, one or two leaves of kale, or a small hand full of broccoli florets, and a small apple. Perfect for early morning, a mid afternoon, or bedtime snack.
For optimal health we need 9 – 13 servings, every day, of fresh, clean vegetables and fruits. I know it’s hard and expensive to do, but there is a way to bridge the gap. One easy way to work toward that goal is to commit to having a large green salad, every day. When shopping, look for all the fruits and veggies you like, and think how you can use them in a salad or a smoothie.
Some folk think that they need to eat three meals a day. Others say 5 to 6 small meals, but what if you are not hungry? Eating when you are not hungry serves no purpose. Save eating for when you are truly hungry, that is when we get the most enjoyment from the food. When you are not hungry, the body is actively assimilating the nutrients already present for use in the systems.
When we eat nutrient dense foods, we are hungry less often. However, when we eat junk foods, or empty calories, we are never truly satisfied.
What foods you eliminate is just as important as what foods you do eat, in restoring health. Eating more wild caught fish and cagefree omega-3 eggs, and eating less meat, chicken, and products made with cows’ milk is a major step in removing toxins from your diet, and therefore your body. Many meat eaters and meat manufacturers do not agree, but the scientific literature is replete in the proof that meat is detrimental to the health of our bodies. Eating meat causes acid and inflammation in the body, two elements at the heart of all disease processes, from stroke and heart attack – to diabetes and poor circulation, and everything in-between. That is just the beginning.
And last, but certainly not at all the least, getting enough water. We drink a lot of liquids; however, most of the liquids we drink cause dehydration and cause us to loose even more fluid than we take in. We need lots of water, clean and pure for the bodily processes to take place easily and efficiently. Only water can make that happen. Also, water is the universal solvent for the body, so only water can dissolve toxins for removal from the body, and resolve fluid imbalances in the body.
So, there it is, these are some of the most important actions you can take, to allow your body to easily and quickly triumph over even long-standing, debilitating illness. Start today and “your healing shall spring forth speedily.” Note: If you’d like to be part of a wellness group to reverse diabetes, call me.
