Cash-n-Carry, the leading You Pull It salvage yard in Savannah, presented a check for $5,000 to the students and staff of

Haven Elementary School on Friday, April 20th. The gift will be used to pay for much-needed supplies and to enhance the Science and Math curriculums at the school.

This fundraiser, which has been going on for several months now, is just one way the staff at Cash-n- Carry is giving back to the community. Kenny Grainger, owner of Cash-n-Carry, said it all: “For years now our business has depended on the loyal following of the citizens of Savannah. We are deeply appreciative of this loyalty and we are excited about this opportunity to help the teachers and students of Haven Elementary. We hope this money will help this fine school continue to do the admirable job they have always done for our students.”

The Earth Day event began at 10:00 a.m. and continued until 11:30 a.m. when the students returned to school. Over 150 people were expected including school staff and students. There were Earth Day goodies handed out as well as a lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs. School Principal Sharon Draeger explained the importance of this event: “This donation is so exciting for the students and staff at Haven. It will assist us in enhancing technology and instruction in Science and Math. We are so thankful to our business partners at Cash-n-Carry for making some of our dreams a reality.”
