Harvest Day At Connor’s Temple Baptist Church

 
 

With the theme: “Our Harvest is Built on our Past, Present, and Future”, the Connor’s Temple Baptist Church family will celebrate Harvest Day on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the 10:00 A.M. Worship Service.

The spiritual message will be delivered by one of Savannah’s Living Legends who is well known as a Pastor and Builder and is often referred to as “Savannah’s Pastor”. This Living Legend is the Reverend Matthew Southall Brown, Sr. Music will be provided by the Connor’s Temple Mass Choir.

Pastor Brown was born in Savannah, Georgia, educated in the public school system graduating from Alfred E. Beach High School and attended Georgia State Industrial College (now Savannah State University). He earned a Bachelor of Divinity degree from American Baptist School of Theology, studied at Princeton Institute of Theology, and the Regional Drug Education and Training Resource Center which is a division of Addiction Sciences at the University of Miami.

He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was nurtured under the pastorate of Rev. Ralph Mark Gilbert of First African Baptist Church of Savannah and served as pastor of Smyrna Baptist Church, historic Nicholsonboro Baptist Church, White Bluff Baptist Church, Royal Missionary Baptist Church of Charleston, SC, and St. John Missionary Baptist Church, “The Mighty Fortress”, of Savannah for 35 years.

Pastor Brown has held membership in several civic and religious organizations including Life Member NAACP, State and National Baptist Conventions, Moderator of the Berean Baptist Association, Savannah Baptist Ministers Union, Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, Prince Hall Masons, and the 2221 African American World War II fighting squad.

Connor’s Temple Baptist Church is located at 509 West Gwinnett Street and Rev. Terrance L. Burrell, Sr. is Pastor. The public is cordially invited to come and share in this Harvest Day Celebration of thanks and praise to God for His goodness and blessings.
