Greenbriar Raises Funds for New Website Anonymous Donor Pledges $1,000

Greenbriar Children’s Center has been raising funds for over a year to build a new website which is badly needed to attract support and donations to the organization and inform those who benefit from this local non-profit’s wide array services. A new site, which a local business has committed to building for $5,000, would assist Greenbriar greatly in their mission of caring for the community’s abused, neglected and runaway children.

The organization is now only $1,000 away from its goal, thanks to a $3,000 grant from the Kiwanis Club of Skidaway Island and a generous anonymous donor, who has pledged $1,000 if the community will donate the remaining $1,000.

Greenbriar Executive Director Gena Taylor said the nonprofit has needed a new website for years, but other priorities had to be tended to first.

“Greenbriar’ s website hasn’t been updated or overhauled in nearly a decade. The technology isn’t user-friendly, and we can’t properly utilize the platform to make the public aware of all the wonderful programs and services Greenbriar offers. It just doesn’t do our organization justice,” Taylor said. “Funds we receive or raise have to go to the care, health, safety and education of the children we help.
