“Gospel Music Is…” produced and directed by Tiffany Blake has been chosen to play in the Official Selection of the 2017 River Bend Film Festival in Indiana. The festival will take place April 6-8 in Goshen, Indiana. “Gospel Music Is…” will screen on April 8 at the Goshen Theater alongside numerous short films. This documentary takes viewers on a journey of the history of gospel music. Featured in this documentary is Savannah’s own E. Larry McDuffie, Pastor Matthew Southall Brown Sr., the late Ben Tucker, Bishop Thomas Sills, Recording Artists Zion and Porschia, many great choirs and soloists. From April 6 to 8, River Bend Film Festival will feature 76 short films, eight feature films, and special appearances from big-name celebrities including actress Beth Grant starring in Jackie, No Country For Old Men, and The Artist and musician Binky Griptite, whose resume includes playing alongside Janet Jackson and Amy Winehouse and playing lead guitar in Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings.
Founded in 2002 by a group of avid film-lovers and filmmakers in South Bend, Ind., River Bend Film Festival has brought filmmakers and their fans together to celebrate the art of film for over 15 years. For the first seven years, the festival was located on the campus of Indiana University-South Bend, then moved to the Century Center in downtown South Bend in 2009.
In 2016, the festival made its debut in its current location in downtown Goshen. Bringing in thousands of new fans from Goshen and filmmakers and fans from across the country, the 2016 event shattered all previous attendance records.
