Georgia-Pacific Donates To Savannah Fire & Emergency Services

A donation from Georgia-Pacific Foun dation will help Savannah Fire & Emergency Services enhance the department’s CPAT program for firefighter applicants.

CPAT is the final stage of the application process for prospective firefighters. It is the physical portion that all applicants are required to pass in order to remain in contention for coveted slots in the SFES fire academy.

Company representatives Rustan Stewart, Human Resources Manager, and Javier Garcia, Safety Manager for Georgia-Pacific Gypsum LLC presented Savannah Fire Chief Charles G. Middleton with a $3,000 donation that will go toward replacing aging equipment used in the CPAT program. The presentation was made at Savannah Fire’s Pine Gardens fire station on Capitol St. Firefighters assigned to the station will be the first companies to respond to emergency incidents at Georgia-Pacific’s Wahlstrom Rd. facility.
