Garden City to Rehabilitate and Repave Chatham Parkway From Interstate 16 to Highway 80

The City of Garden City and its contractor RB Baker Construction are set to initiate field work on the rehabilitation and repaving of Chatham Parkway from the interchange with I-16 north to the intersection with Highway 80. In advance of project commencement, the City has placed electronic message boards on I-16 alerting commuters of the upcoming project and the City has placed signage along Chatham Parkway to deter drivers from using this route is less congested routes are available. The project was identified in Garden City’s recent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) project list and the City has now made arrangements to begin the field construction work. The City now desires to notify and alert area commuters that the project is scheduled to commence on May 8, 2017 and continue for up to 12 months. The contractor for the project is RB Baker Construction. The final schedule of completion will be dependent on many factors including construction complexity, weather delays and any unforeseen issues that arise.
