Gamma Sigma Omega Presents The 2014 Precious Gems


 
 

On Saturday, June 7th, 2014, at 7pm Gamma Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated will present the 2014 Precious Gems at their Junior Debutante Cotillion to be held in the Savannah Ballroom, King Frazier Complex at Savannah State University, 3219 College Street, Savannah, GA 31404. The Cotillion will be co-hosted by the Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Savannah State University. This year’s theme is “A Rainbow of Stars.”

This year’s Precious Gems are Zariyah DeNay Cope, the daughter of Gerald and Lakeshia Cope; Leah Christine Jackson, the daughter of Dr. Lester and Dr. Lorna Jackson; ShaKayla J. King, the daughter of Shaneisla L. Baker; Jarkaylah Kemmalyn Kelly, the daughter of Lisa V. Kelly; Nicole Lark, the daughter of Notosha Lark; Orlasha Phillips-Pickens, the daughter of Takisha L. Phillips and Jackie M. Pickens; Faith Reynolds, the daughter of Barbara Reynolds; and Tiana Watts, the daughter of Victor and Tawanna Watts.

The Precious Gem mentoring program provides training for social, educational and cultural growth for middle school age young ladies and culminates in a presentation pageant, Junior Debutante Cotillion. This annual fundraising pageant allows Moving All Races To Higher Achievement (M.A.R.T.H.A.) Inc. to continue to provide scholarships and charitable contributions to programs and services that assist in the growth and development of the communities within the Savannah-Chatham area. M.A.R.T.H.A. is the 501 (c)(3) nonprofit of Gamma Sigma Omega chapter. If you would like to make a tax deductible contribution send your donation to M.A.R.T.H.A. Inc., P.O. This event is open to the public and admission tickets are $10.00 each. All proceeds support M.A.R.T.H.A. Inc.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA) is an international service organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for citizens’ worldwide and promoting peace. The organization is led by its 28th International President Carolyn House Stewart whose administration’s programmatic theme is “Global Leadership Through Timeless Service.” Locally, Gamma Sigma Omega is under the leadership of Tarangula B. Scott and the president of Gamma Upsilon is Brittany Barnwell.
