“Unsung Heroines of the Bible” sponsored by The First District Deaconess of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of GA, Inc. will be Saturday, July 28, 2018, 5:00 p.m. at Tremont Temple Baptist Church, Rev. Quentin J. Morris, Sr., Pastor, 1110 MLK Blvd, Savannah, GA, Sis. Louise Bryant, Deaconess Auxiliary Leader. This event will ensure that the First District Deaconesses will be well represented at the State’s 12th Annual Deaconesses, Deacons’ Wives and Deacons’ Widows Conference, August 30 – September 1, 2018 in Augusta, GA and will return home as Winner in competition with eleven other districts. Who will be crowned Queen Deaconess of First District? Come support First District’s Deaconesses. All participants should be present at 4:30 p.m.

Consecration Service, Women-in-White, will be held at the First African Missionary Baptist Church, 600 Church Drive, Glennville, GA, 30427, Rev. Derrick Ryals, Pastor, Sunday, July 29, 2018, 5:00 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. Dr. Edith W. Anderson, a native of Allenhurst, GA, Pastor of Mary Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Gardi, GA. She is a graduate of Trinity Temple College of Religion, Hinesville, GA and St. Leo College, Tampa, FL, certified COPP instructor, retired Federal Government employee, free-lance writer and author. The coordinator for this service is Sis. Christine Bailey. This service ensures unity in the Body and the Spirit uniting First District women of GMBC as one for the work that must be done for the Lord in our local churches, communities, and the General Missionary Baptist Convention of GA, Inc., promoting Kingdom building and “envisioning the future exceptionally through our commitment to Christian Stewardship.” Please attend the “Unsung Heroines of the Bible” and the Consecration Service of the First District, Rev. Stanford L. Anderson, I, President; Sis. Emma Jean Conyers, President, Women’s Auxiliary. The First District is of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of GA, Inc., Rev. Dr. Kenneth B. Martin, President; Sis. Margaret Whaley, President, Women’s Auxiliary. The public is invited.

First District women shipped eighty five pounds of new clothing from FedEx Office, June 13, 2018, at a cost of $184.96 to the 22nd Annual Fashion Share Outreach Project 2018, sponsored by the Women’s Auxiliary of the National Baptist Convention USA Inc., Sis. Cynthia P. Smith, President, Women’s Auxiliary and Dr. Jerry Young, President of the Convention. These new clothing items consisted of dresses, skirts, blouses, slacks, jeans, sweaters, panties, blazers, etc. These clothing will serve the less fortunate women in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where the National Baptist Convention USA Inc. will convene, September 2018.
