Another holiday season is upon us. For many, it is a time for enjoying family and friends, for cooking and eating plenty of holiday treats, and for shopping ‘til we drop. While for others, it is a time for reminiscing on good times and reflecting on the real meaning of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every week, I usually talk about eyesight or eye health. This week, I will say that as we celebrate this season of giving and receiving, we should not forget to take care of our bodies, mind, and spirit. God gave us his Son so we could receive His grace and goodness. Included in the goodness of God is having a healthy body, mind, and spirit. These are not qualities that each of us just automatically have. They are truly gifts from God and we should always be grateful and committed to taking care of each one of them on a daily basis.
During the coming weeks, make sure you do not get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the excitement of these holidays. Instead, find time to reflect on your own body, mind, and spirit. Take time to take care of yourself—it is good for YOUR body. Evaluate how you spend your time —it is good for your Mind. And then, find time to take care of others – it is good for your Spirit.
I would like to wish everyone a Joyous Thanksgiving and Holiday Season.
