‘EYE CARE’ FOR YOU

THANKFUL…

It’s another holiday season and it seems to have come so fast again. This holiday is one of the most important ones to enjoy. There are so many things to be thankful for in life…, for family, for friends, for loved ones, for jobs, for homes, for food…, you name it, and we can be thankful for it. Included in that laundry list, we should add to be thankful for healthy eyes and good vision.

Eye health is one of the health conditions that many take for granted. We assume that just because we can see well and our eyes do not hurt our eyes are fine and healthy. Well…, this is not always true.

Good vision and healthy eyes are things for which we should be thankful. Vision is a gift, and we are responsible for making sure that our bodies (including the eyes) stay healthy. Therefore, an eye examination is something that each of us should be committed to just like we commit to our annual physical.

At least once a year, even if you are in excellent health, you should have a comprehensive eye examination. And if you have medical conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, cholesterol, allergies, arthritis, and others, more than one eye doctor’s visit may be required per year. Your comprehensive eye examination should include not only the assessment of your vision, but also a dilated eye examination to confirm the health of your eyes. Knowing (and not assuming) your eyes are healthy helps to ensure that you will have the potential for good vision in the future.

When was your last eye examination? If it has already been greater than one year, you still have time before the end of this year to have your eyes checked. Don’t lose sight of what is important in life. Imagine a world without your vision…

Every day, as you recite the things that you are thankful for, remember to also include being thankful for your eyes.

If you are in need of an eye care provider, I invite you to visit EnVision Eye Care.
