“EYE” CARE FOR YOU

‘Tis The Season 2

As we enter the end of the year and this holiday season, we should take a moment and reflect back over the last 11 months and find something good that has happened to us in the terms of our health. Perhaps you were able to control your blood pressure or diabetes better, you got a clean bill of health from your annual physical. Hopefully, you visited your eye care provider this year and also got a good report.

Eye health is one of the health conditions that many take for granted. We assume that just because I can see well and my eyes do not hurt, my eyes are fine and healthy. Well…, this is not always so true.

Good vision and healthy eyes are not something we should take for granted. It is truly a gift, and we are responsible for making sure that our bodies (including the eyes) stay healthy. Therefore, an eye examination is something that each of us should be committed to just like we commit to our annual physical.

At least once a year, if you are in excellent health, you should have a comprehensive eye examination. And if you have medical conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, cholesterol, allergies, arthritis, and others, more than one eye doctor’s visit may be required per year. Your comprehensive eye examination should include not the assessment of your vision, but a dilated eye examination will determine the health of your eyes. Knowing (and not assuming) your eyes are healthy helps to confirm that you will have good potential for good vision in the future.

When was your last eye examination? If it has already been greater than one year, you still have time before 2014 to have your eyes checked. Don’t lose sight of what is important in life. Imagine a world without your vision…

It has been a pleasure to write and help to inform you more about your eye health this year. I look forward to continuing the same in 2019. The more we know about our eyes, the better we can “see.”

I invite you to visit EnVision Eye Care if you are in need of an eye care provider.

  1. Marshal’s Blend is a carefully crafted blend of Central American and Indonesian coffees. The coffees are roasted to achieve a full body with a pleasingly rich molasses sweetness.
