The American Red Cross of Southeast and Coastal Georgia are pleased to announce Esther Sheppard has been selected to head the chapter as Executive Director. Sheppard is a seasoned non-profit and for-profit professional with over two decades of fundraising, management, operations, service delivery and customer service experience with an emphasis on building internal and external partnerships, business development, donor relations, media partnerships, brand visibility and organization awareness.

Her non-profit fund development career began in 2007 when she joined the Hampton Roads Chapter of the American Red Cross as a Major Gift and Planned Giving Officer. Within the first six months, Sheppard was promoted to Chief Development Officer with the responsibility of staff management, fiscal and strategic planning, fund development, public affairs and special events. After relocating to the Savannah area, she was hired in 2011 as Director of Development for the Savannah Red Cross and then was later promoted in 2012 within the Georgia region to manage Major Gift Officers throughout the state. Her for-profit career spanned over 8 years where she was a Regional Director for Federated Company (Macy’s) and the Manager of Wedding Registry Communications and Special Events with May Company (Hecht’s Department Stores) , with the responsibility of a 2 million dollar area within the Washington, DC market. Sheppard is the wife of Rev. Paul A. Sheppard, Senior Pastor of Thankful Missionary Baptist Church, Savannah, GA.
