Employability Announces Dr. Bertice Berry As Flourish 2019 Keynote Speaker


As we celebrate a successfully executed 2018 Flourish, EmployAbility is pleased to announce the keynote speaker and the date for the 2019 Flourish Garden Party.

Sociologist, Dr. Bertice Berry, will headline the event, to be held on October 24, 2019 in the beautiful garden at 1249 Eisenhower Drive in Savannah, GA. Berry holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Kent State University in Ohio and has been named Comedian of The Year, Lecturer of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year. She is a best-selling author of 11 fiction and non-fiction books and renowned scholar. In addition to having her own nationally syndicated television show, she has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Comedy Central, and CBN, receiving a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work (Instructional) in 2012, amongst many other accomplishments.

Using her talent in entertainment and writing, Berry has written on a wide range of topics including race and gender issues, sociological studies, healthcare reform, humor, spirituality, sexuality, slavery and the abolitionist movement, weight loss and wellness, relationships, transformational leadership, diversity, and love.

Berry is well known for serving organizations that help those in need. She supports EmployAbility’s mission to prepare individuals with developmental disabilities for employment and community integration. Flourish was conceived to spotlight individuals with developmental disabilities and their many talents, in addition to raising funds to underwrite a variety of training programs within EmployAbility.
