Dominique Williams Remembered


 
 

Dominique Xavier Milton Williams passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2015, after being fatally shot on Hilton Head Island. He was a 17 year old Groves High School football player and drummer at Central Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Dominique started his journey in life on July 10, 1998 to the parents of Permethia Rudy Milton and Leroy Dominique Williams on Hilton Head Island, SC. Dominique began his education at Mary’s Christian Day School where he was instructed by Ms. Mary Green who not only instructed him with his formal education but with a solid foundation of Christ’s teachings. He continued his education at Hilton Head public school where he was a member of the drumline, JV basketball and football teams. He later attended Robert W. Groves High School in Savannah, Georgia beginning his sophomore year where he participated in track and field and recently made the football team.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Central Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Dominique was blessed with the gift of music through the tutelage from his loving father. His passion for music was evident by his involvement and musicianship. He played and sung at several churches, local venues in the low country, and was a regular participant at the Hilton Head Jazz Camp. His most recent musical endeavor was at the South Carolina Baptist Congress State Conference. Dominique was a tenacious musician with a caring and loving heart. His music skills embodied the spirit of a little drummer boy with a kindred soul devoted to his family and friends.

Dominique touched the lives of those who knew him with his infectious smile and his love of entertaining. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, loving and devoted parents

Four sisters: Tibreau, Roleigh and Zy’Nae Shiggs of Hardeeville,SC and, Lindsay Williams of Pooler, Georgia. maternal grandmother Mary Milton of Hilton Head SC, paternal grandparents Lily (Joseph) Jacques Jr. of Tarboro, SC, William (Orie) Duncan of Stanford, CT., godmother, Vanessa Green., five aunts: LaSha Milton of Hilton Head,SC. Kyristal Milton of Charleston, Cardenia D. Monroe of Long Pond, PA .Shantell Nimmons of Pooler, GA., Shalunda (Joao) Darosa of Columbia SC ,His special cousins Shakeria Diamond Dupont and Ciara Williams, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday July 25, 2015 at Central Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Hilton Head Island.
