Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Celebrates 75 Years Of Service

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – Savannah Alumnae Chapter is celebrating seventy-five years of service in the local area. The theme for this year is “75 Years of Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service.” As a part of the celebration, the chapter has identified Thirteen Acts of Service in honor of the thirteen Charter members of the Savannah Alumnae Chapter. The chapter is engaged in thirteen specific Acts of Service throughout the community, which began in October 2015. The culminating activity will be the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Gala, which will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 -7:00P.M. at the Hyatt Hotel Harborview Room. A silent auction will begin at 7:00P.M., and the gala program will begin at 8:00P.M.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a public service sorority that uses its Five-Point Programmatic Thrust of Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement to create its national programs. The Savannah Alumnae Chapter is involved in this mandate through annual scholarship presentations, youth mentoring programs, and support of several national and local charities, such as: American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, American Red Cross, Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation, Curtis & Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute, Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club, Greenbriar Children’s Center, Black Heritage Festival King Tisdell Foundation, United Negro Fund, Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum, NAACP – Savannah Chapter, Savannah State University, etc. We are asking that you please join us as a valued supporter of the Diamond Jubilee Gala by becoming a sponsor, purchasing an ad, purchasing tickets, or donating toward the silent auction.
