The Chatham County-Savannah Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) is preparing an update to the Comprehensive Plan originally completed in 2006 with revisions made in 2009 and 2012. The Comprehensive Plan is a document that describes the history, current state, and future vision for the community. This document will help shape our community by identifying issues, opportunities, and priorities and allocating resources accordingly. This plan will address future land use and policy priorities for the City of Savannah and Unincorporated Chatham County. MPC Staff are working to complete the Comprehensive Plan by the fall of 2016.
The MPC is seeking input from the community to inform this planning document. The MPC is asking that citizens of Savannah and Unincorporated Chatham County participate in the planning process by taking a survey or attending a public open house meeting.
The survey can be taken online by visiting www.thempc.org and clicking on the “TAKE THE SURVEY” link. Paper copies of the survey are available at the MPC office or by request. The survey takes about five minutes to complete and will be open until July 15, 2016.
Two public open house meetings will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016. The first will run from 10:00 am to noon, the second will run from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Both meetings will take place in the MPC’s Arthur A. Mendonsa Hearing Room, 110 East State Street, Savannah, GA 31401.
