Coastal Jazz Association’s monthly concert will be held on Sunday, May 15, at the Jazz’d Tapas Restaurant and Bar, 52 Barnard Street beginning at 5:00PM. This is a special performance by a group of select musicians and promises to be an unforgettable and entertaining experience.
This concert will feature The Teddy Adams Sextet. The group, specially formed for this performance is comprised of some of the area’s best musicians. Of course Teddy will be playing trombone along with Kirk Lee on trumpet, Jeremy Johnson saxophone, Linus Enokssen bass, Brendon Polk piano and Robert Saunders on drums.
The group’s repertoire will consist of American and Jazz standards, but will focus on several of Teddy’s original compositions. According to Teddy, his compositions are mostly inspired by Family members, friends and places. The songs range from ballads and latin to grove and swing idioms. Teddy stated that it was very important to select the best musicians so the the music could be properly interpreted and presented in an appealing and empathetic manner.
