A national search by a third-party employment recruiter (Stanton Chase of Atlanta), highly recommended Jeffrey M. Hadley, public safety chief of Kalamazoo, Michigan, for the position of the head of the Chatham County Police Department. Chatham County Manager Lee Smith and his management team interviewed Chief Hadley and made an offer of employment which he accepted on Monday, November 6, 2017.

Chief Hadley has 26 years of experience in law enforcement and public safety with 14 of those years in senior level management. He is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy and its Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar.

Mr. Hadley’s start date is December 4, 2017. This will afford him the opportunity to vet and hire management staff to assist in final organization and setup of the Chatham County Police Department.

Chatham County welcomes Chief Hadley, his wife and family. Our community looks forward to working with him.
