Chatham Area Transit Introduces New Airport Express Bus Service

As part of the service changes effective Monday, October 7, 2013, Chatham Area Transit will introduce a new express bus service from the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport to the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center.

The Airport Express (Route 100X) will offer passengers, both residents and visitors a non-stop, affordable and faster access from the airport to downtown Savannah. The Route 100X will operate every 30 minutes from approximately 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday-Saturday. The oneway fare charge is only $1.50, the same as a CAT single ride fare.

In addition to providing a convenient and cost-effective transit alternative to the millions of visitors traveling from the Savannah Airport to the beautiful downtown Savannah, the Airport Express also will provide a faster, direct route for our local residents and those who work at the airport. Upon arrival at the new Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center, passengers will be able to select from various transportation options to continue the trip to their other destinations; such as walking to nearby hotels, shops, and historic sites; connection with the dot—Savannah’s fare free downtown transportation system; bike share access; and easy transfers to other CAT routes.
