The recent graduates of the Chatham Apprentice Program (CAP)were recognized by Chatham County Commissioners on last Friday in the Commission Chambers.

CAP graduates and their families, CAP and Step Up Savannah staff were in attendance. Step Up’s Board Chairman, Jim Stevenson, and CAP graduates JoAnne Greer and Sunjay Paisley were invited to speak.

Step Up Savannah oversees the Chatham Apprentice Program (CAP) which helps unemployed and under-employed Chatham County residents find or create career paths that offer decent wages and opportunities for advancement. In this intense four-week training program, adults develop skills to compete in the job market, secure employment, and learn to become more self-sufficient. Graduates who have gone through the program were recognized for successfully completing the program.

CAP and Step Up Savannah are funded by Chatham County, United Way, City of Savannah, Georgia Power and SEDA, among other companies and foundations.
