The fifth annual “Celebration of Hope” wine tasting and silent auction will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, at the Harborside Center in the Hyatt Regency Savannah. Funds raised will support families coping with a child who has cancer, a blood disorder, or sickle cell disease at the George and Marie Backus Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center.

One-year-old Josiah Parker benefitted from Celebration of Hope. He was diagnosed with tumors on both of his kidneys when he was just 6 months old. His mother, Michelle, traveled from Hinesville to Savannah to utilize the children’s cancer services and pediatric oncologists at Backus Children’s Hospital. Without their world-class care, Josiah might not be alive today.

“I thank every single person that is part of

Backus] Children’s Hospital. The doctors, the nurses, the housekeepers, the people in dietary, the volunteers, my case manager, everybody. Thank you so much for being there for us,” said Michelle Parker. Tickets can be purchased via telephone at 912-350-8194 or online at www.kidshope.memorialhealth. com or at www.memorialhealth. kintera.org/celebrationofhope.

Celebration of Hope sponsors include Kids Miracle Designs, Piggly Wiggly, the Coastal Corvette Association, and the Pediatric Oncology Supporting Survivors Endeavor

P.O.S.S.E).
