Calling all Neighborhood Leaders: Training Program Now Recruiting


Are you an up and coming leader? Know someone who is?

Step Up Savannah is looking for emerging leaders— young and old—to participate in a leadership course, starting Sept. 26, 2011.

The Neighborhood Leadership Academy is open to men and women, 21 years and older from Savannah/Chatham County. This free12-session course is designed to develop participants’ knowledge of our community, plus sharpen personal leadership skills and abilities.

Selected participants will attend Monday evening sessions, taught by other community leaders and experts, at Savannah State University’s Social Service Building. A small stipend will be offered to those who attend all sessions.

If you’re interested, you must submit an application and be interviewed for the program. Completed applications are due on Aug. 29. Classes are scheduled to start on Sept. 26. Interviews will be held during the weeks of Sept. 5 and 12. This program is offered in partnership with the City of Savannah.
