The Hungry Club Forum of Savannah, Inc. will host its monthly, Signature Roundtable Breakfast and Open Forum, on Saturday Sept. 1, 2012, in the Multipurpose Room of the Main Building of the West Broad Street YMCA, located at 1110 May Street, at 9:30 AM. Part three in a series of four community roundtable discussions on Workforce Development, Jobs Creation and Community Economic Development will be presented.

Joseph R. Hudson, chairman, Hudson Strategic Group, will serve as keynote presenter and facilitator for the forum. Hudson and his associates have played an active role in research, development and planning strategies for business and economic development for more than 19 years. Their expertise has been widely sought by private and public sector entities across the state and nation.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Hudson is no stranger to the Savannah and Coastal Area community, having stepped up his connections in the Savannah Area over the last decade.

Hudson’s Sept.1 presentation will be centered on how concerned citizens can play vital roles in increasing economic and business development in the African American community, thereby enhancing the prosperity of the broader community. Hudson will reintroduce in detail HsG’s “5 percent Solution: A Black Community Economic Recovery Plan” and the Savannah CITI works Strategy Map, first developed in 2008, with input from local businesses, and co-sponsored by the City of Savannah. The goal of the open forum will be to assist in developing a vision and direction for the community. It will take the input and cooperation of all members of the community to increase wealth and enterprise development, and reduce the number of unemployed and underemployed in the Savannah Area community. The Hungry Club Forum activities are open to the public. For more information, please call Julia Wright at 233- 0855 or Diana Harvey Johnson at 927-8425.
