Former Savannah State football players Brandon Bailey and Stefen Banks have been invited to NFL rookie mini camps.
Bailey (6-1, 185) has been invited to tryout with the Atlanta Falcons while Banks has been invited for a tryout with the Cleveland Browns.
A native of Duncan, South Carolina, Bailey played defensive back for SSU from 2014-16. Bailey finished his career with 60 tackles and five tackles for losses. He spent last season playing in the Indoor Football
League. Banks (6-1, 230), who hails from Columbus, Ohio played on the Tigers defensive line (2015-18) and finished his collegiate career with 226 tackles (144 solo), 51.5 tackles for losses, 24.5 sacks, six pass breakups and two interceptions. He earned All-MEAC honors his sophomore, junior and senior seasons and was a All-American in 2017. In Cleveland, Banks will work under former Savannah State head coach Steve Wilks, who is the Browns defensive coordinator.
