Philip and Lynette Robinson, longstanding patrons of the arts in New Jersey, South Carolina, and Savannah,
Georgia, embraced the King-Tisdell Cottage Foundation, Inc. with their philanthropic outreach. The benefit was held at the River Club on Callawassie Island, South Carolina tucked away in one of the most auspicious settings in the scenic Low Country on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 3-5 p.m.
The guests were in for a treat extraordinaire in this cozy setting. Tables were ornately linen coiffed with each centerpiece featuring a jazz musician either male or female in a stately crystal vase flanked by a topper with a gold doily presenting some of the most scrumptious morsels of gourmet brownies and chocolate chip cookies in abundance. Lemonade stimulated dry palates. The main course was a Low Country staple of smothered shrimp and grits and warm yeast rolls fresh from the oven.
The Robinsons welcomed each patron in their warm and genteel manner in this pristine and oceanfront setting. A huge floral centerpiece commanded the entrance to the River Club. It was accentuated by a table with elegantly golden foiled wrapped favors of bottled wines tied together with a black satin ribbon embossed with Lynette Design. Each guest was presented one for supporting the Foundation at the close of the event. T. J. Reddy entertained the guests through song and poetry. It was hailed as one of the unique events to attend on a beautiful, sunny day on the Callawassie River. Accolades are extended to the Robinson for their humanitarian efforts and planning such a splendid event. Dr. Annette K. Brock, Chair of King-Tisdell Cottage Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors, extended appreciation to friends and generous supporters of the Foundation at this event. Dr. Brock graciously acknowledged the Robinsons as hostesses for this event as well as their role as longtime benefactors of the King-Tisdell Cottage Foundation, Inc.
