Asbury to Hold Back to School Jamboree Festival


Asbury United Methodist Church, 1201 Abercorn Street, will host a Back to School Jamboree Festival entitled, “‘What About the Children.” The event will take place Thursday, August 27- Saturday August 29.

A revival will kick of the Jamboree on Thursday, August 27, at 6:30pm. It will feature Rev. Antonie E. Walker from Canaan Community Church, the Armstrong Atlantic University Choir and the Asbury Youth Choir. The Gospel Jamboree wil be held on Friday, August 28 at 6:30pm. Gospel Rap artists the Postmen, Christopher Smith “Lil One” will perform along with the Shades of Art Dancers, Sylvania, Ga., and the Young Adult Ministry Servant Choir. The event is the Back to School Block Party on Saturday, August 29 from 11-3PM. This will be held at the corner of East Broad and Henry St. There will be games, fun, prizes, food and fun. School supplies will be given away.

These events are sponsored by the Asbury Beacon of Light Community Outreach Center, Inc. and the Young Adult Ministry Servants.
