Applications Open for Summer 500

The City of Savannah is gearing up again for the 3rd annual Summer 500 program. High school students aged 16 and over, who are currently enrolled in either public or private school are encouraged to apply for the Summer 500 internship program.

Summer 500 internships will pay a minimum of $8 an hour with a minimum of 32 hours a week. Students will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test, and interns will be placed in jobs in either the public or private sector. The summer internship program helps students gain valuable experience and create important networking connections. Nearly 300 local youth participated in the 2017 Summer 500 program.

Students who are interested in this internship opportunity are asked to submit an application, which can be found online at the City of Savannah’s website at www.savannahga. gov/summer500.

Additionally, the registration portal is open for community’s businesses who want to be a part of this exciting program and participate as an employer.

The deadline for registration for business and student internship applications is Friday, March 30, 2018.
